Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, five Finger Discount. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat it Out. The following year, her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. The 8th of December was the day she confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded with Cozz in The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music clip was then followed by a short video in September. In November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, No One as well as Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then made the track available in a solo version on the album she released her debut. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted in February 20th, 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within the first week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
